Die Macherei Berlin-Kreuzberg is a new building complex in the heart of Berlin.
One of the three buildings in the area, the M40 “Das Holzcarré”, features the innovative CREE timber-hybrid System. The eight-storey building, located near Potsdamer Platz, combines office-, event-, local food supply-, and retail spaces on an area of 27 800 m² GFA. The design by a renowned Berlin architectural office ROBERTNEUN offers up to four rentable office units per floor, which can be interconnected and specifically adapted to the tenant’s wishes. Therefore, the resource-conscious design allows for a long-term sustainability through flexibly adaptable office spaces while offering collaborative working landscapes. In addition to the exposed timber structure, outdoor terraces, and green roof areas as well as inner courtyards provide the natural appearance of the M40. The users benefit from an excellent indoor climate, air quality, lighting conditions, and increased well-being in their everyday work life.
The planning, coordination, and installation of the timber-hybrid services in the building project was carried out by CREE Germany. The construction of the building is already in full swing. The curtain-type glass element façade allows for a full-storey glazing providing plenty of light, great views, and the visibility of the timber-hybrid structure from the outside.
